Waste Minimization

Dickinson is committed to reducing materials consumption, reusing materials, recycling and composting. Paper, cardboard, plastics, glass and metals are recycled in our single-stream recycling system, while electronic waste and plastic bags are collected for recycling through other programs. 100 percent of food waste from the dining hall is collected, pulped and sent to the Dickinson Farm for composting, where it is used to improve the soils and grow food for the campus and community.
